sdy284 Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 while not a direct answer to your question, this thread should give you OCC's view on the Q: http://forums.overclockersclub.com/index.p...=66201&st=
Verran Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Well, comparing the Q to the 700p is a little weird, since it's much more "apples and oranges" than a Q vs. 700w would be. They're different operating systems, so I think first you should figure out which OS is right for you. For me, it's definately windows, so I'd actually be looking at the 700w. However, as you can see from the link sdy posted, I was shopping in the same boat as you a while back. I'll start by saying that I really like my Q and I'm very happy I bought it over the other Verizon phones. The only beef I have with it is a picture messaging plan thing, and I would have the same problem with any web-enabled phone, so it doesn't really count. If I were looking for a Cingular phone, I probably would have gotten the 8125. First of all, price is a big factor. When I bought my Q, it was $200 cheaper than a 700, so that's big. Beyond that, it's just features. You can see a pretty good discussion of what each can and can't do in that other thread, so really it just comes down to figuring out what you want to do with it. If the Q will do all/most of what you want, I'd go that route, since it's smaller and cheaper. If you require features that the Q doesn't have (a touch-screen, for example), then you should probably step up to the 700.
