road-runner Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 The only way I've found to OC these boards is by "tricking" the BIOS into OC'ing by setting the FSB rate, hitting F10 and the second you press "enter" you have to hit the PSU turn off switch to kill the power. Upon restarting BAM, you're now OC'ing. The catch is that you have to completely shut down the system if you want to restart, if you click "restart" from Windows, it will reset your FSB clock on restart. Pretty weird board. Hopefully the F6 BIOS will address this whenever they decide to do it. Sad but true I found this on google and it works to overclock and I have the F6 bios that does not fix it either. I can not get above 288fsb in the bios. It will OC with Easytune I had it up to 3485. Folding with 2 versions and using Easytune at all speeds above 3gz it locks up after about 8 or 10 frames. I even went and bought a PCIE video card its only a X1300 but I thought maybe it would OC more than the onboard video. This board is junk. I have tried every setting imaganable. I have been messing with since last night
kingdingeling Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 did you try different BIOS revisions? Maybe you got a bad board? ask ziggy and silverfox, they have this board I think... I have yet to try the DS4, just got her up and formatted

Everything I have read the 965G does not O.C. because of onboard video I had this board with the Pentium D 915 running 3330mhz with PC-4200 Edited January 14, 2007 by road-runner

road-runner Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 Try looking at this thread. I have read that along with others, by turning it off after hitting enter when leaving the bios I have managed to get it to 317X9, I use Easytune after that and I am folding at 3100mhz I have the newest bios as of now. I guess I will have to wait for a new bios or get a different board. If I search for the GA-965G instead of P I am not the only person having problems with this board. I wish I would have got the P. These Conroes are a lot quicker than the Pentiums!
ccokeman Posted January 14, 2007 Posted January 14, 2007 By quite a large margin.
