Can You Use Pc4200 Memory In...

well can you use pc2 4200 memory in motherboards that say the support 4300?

because there is a motherboard that i need memory for.

or what is pci express x16 (x1mode) on this motherboard mean:

PCI 1x slots are completely different to 16x ones, 1x slots aren't very useful, some mobos come with daughter cards (usually sound) which fit into them but they aren't near as usefull as PCI slots and you can't use them for graphics like you can with the 16x ones (also they are much smaller)

as far x16 in 1x mode deal it means you can only use a limited number of pci express graphics cards in the pci express 16x slot the cards must support the support 1x data rate, Gigabyte's website should contain a list of know supported cards for the slot, though one thing to consider is this is very low bandwidth 250MB/s in each direction and yes the memory will work
