calibruc Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 i'm looking to buy a 80gb hd. i found a seagate sata drive and a western digital eide drive on newegg, both have 8 mb buffers and the same seek times. does anyone know if serial ata is worth the, albeit small, increased price, and if it performs any better? mxrider623 Posted March 27, 2003 Posted March 27, 2003 oh well several days isnt very long to be out and i didnt see them. you should wait and find some benchmarks comparing the two to see how much faster they are.

Maximum PC did a benchmark about a month or two ago and it shows that they were comparable. Maybe, some of the newer ones do better :/
