cdoggown Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Hey kids, Need a couple small replacement parts for the Charger that I dont want to pay dealer price for and have been difficult to find online. Anyone know of an easy way to track down LX vehicles at wrecking yards? I cant imagine there would be a lot of them, but all I need is 1!!! Thanks a ton! GuJuMaN89 Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 i find junkyards by going to www.yp.yahoo.com and searching auto junkyards, then i find out which one has a website, and usually they have a search on it

savethedodobird Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 What will the insurance company do for me? Insurance companies deal with wrecked cars. If they dont have them in their own junkyard they have a list of where the cars go to. (I think thats what BIGRED's Idea was, but I could be completly wrong.) Possibly try http://www.junkyarddog.com/used-auto-parts.htm Or http://www.motors.ebay.com/ You might also find something there. bigred Posted November 21, 2006 Posted November 21, 2006 bingo! who do you think has to sign off on them to send them to the junk yard? 90% of the stuff in a junkyard is sent there by insurance companies, and I'm sure it's got to be much higher on newer vehicles like a 300/charger/magnum. it's where I found my 78 bronco. called up AAA and asked them to give me a listing of any of them that had been totaled in roll overs. they found one really quick. a few months later that same truck was reinsured thru them. I've been known to do it in a pinch for parts. especially when looking for things like axles. which are hard to find new, very expensive (when you hit the 1 ton and heavier range), but easy to fix up and restore when pulled from a junkyard.
