Is This A Video Card Problem?

Recommended Posts

I just got Neverwinter Nights 2, installed, and when I run it, a black screen that never loads shows up. On some attempts, I get a warning that says since my video card has less than 128mb of ram, it won't run optimally. I click ok, and it just closes the program. What gives?

Someone on another forum told me it's a directx problem but I don't trust people on that forum the way I trust people here. Hah.

Any clues?

Thanks.

64MB ati x700.

Sandra says 64MB with 246MB shared. Does that mean it's sharing ram or something to double as video memory?

Id say it definately time for a video card upgrade...

and yes it is sharing 246Mb of your system memory wich isnt good, NWN2 is a new game so it should have all the system memory you can throw at it.

The following are REQUIRED to have the game run:

Minimum System Requirements:

- Windows XP

- 512MB System RAM

- 2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor

- 128MB Direct3D compatible video card with DirectX 9.0c compatible driver

- CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive

- 4.6GB free hard disk space

- DirectX 9.0c (included)

- DirectX 8.1 compatible sound card

- Microsoft .NET 2.0 Framework for toolset (included)

- Broadband connection for multiplayer online play

- Keyboard, Mouse

Seeing as how you're lacking in the video card department, I doubt you'll be able to run the game even at the most minimum settings.
