DECwakeboarder Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 I would say to use an unattended install disk...but considering it all has to be done tonight, I doubt there would be time to build that. Cloning only 4 at a time is going to be the bottleneck IMO, putting a computer together is nothing.
bigred Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 you're assuming I buy retail parts. OEM when ever possible. anyway, it's not going as well as planned. lousy ECS board failure already.
oldfett Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 you're assuming I buy retail parts. OEM when ever possible. I hope you would buy alot of OEM when building 40 computers in one sitting! However even OEM can have alot of packaging... such as bubble wrap!!! On a side what kind of computers are they, high end desktops or something? sdy284 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 anyway, it's not going as well as planned. lousy ECS board failure already. On a side what kind of computers are they, high end desktops or something? wanna re-think your question? (here's a hint, i doubt he's putting an ecs board in a "high end desktop")
bigred Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 setup 1: ECS K8M800M mobo (I have spares of these thank god) Sempron 2800+ 9250 AGP 80gb samsung sata 512mb samsung pc3200 16x samsung dvd rom XP pro Office 2003 pro setup 2: Asus A8R-MVP Athlon 64 FX-55 X550 2gb samsung pc3200 160gb samsung sata 16x samsung dvd burner XP pro office 2003 pro setup 3: A8R-MVP Athlon 64 FX-55 2 x X800XL AIW (no it's not crossfire) 4gb samsung pc3200 2 x samsung 250gb sata raid 0 2 x samsung 16x dvd burner XP Media Center edition Office 2003 pro and no you don't have much waste when OEM parts come in cartons. just one box for every 20 hard drives, 12 optical drives, and plastic bags. cpus come in trays, ram comes in cases of upto 400 sticks per case. the rest was retail boxed though guess you could say they're a little of each on the high end / low end spectrum. cabling has to be done RIGHT. but not perfectly pretty. also the only reason they have to be done tonight is beer and pizza oh and it's 4 machines cloning per person working, or 8 total. bigred Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 So this was more of a challenge/bet, than an actual deadline?? lol yeah, these rigs are going from detroit to san lucas mexico... no chance in hell they're going out tonight. besides what carrier would take them that late at night? just wanted them done before the world series game tonight. they'll be shipped out and probably make it to mexico only to sit and wait for the right employees to make it down there to set them up
oldfett Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 wanna re-think your question? (here's a hint, i doubt he's putting an ecs board in a "high end desktop") He never said they were all ECS either, and later showed this. Wanna rethink your rebuke?
