hardnrg Posted September 29, 2006 Posted September 29, 2006 it was truly awesome... until i got watercooling, and then it was awesome but also terrifying because everything was balanced and could just easily end in disaster... notice the green marker and g-clamp used as props and balances in the last pic! lilkev715 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 Good job on the article, but I have one question that is pretty obvious... Why do a article on a DFI NF4 Ultra-D to SLI mod when this was breaking news ~20 months ago??? I did this mod a LONG time ago as demonstrated here. The only difference is the use of the epoxy on the contacts, but that is about it. I guess you were really bored hardnrg .
hardnrg Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 i did this mod in january or february of this year... and i actually did the mod to use SLI, not just to prove a point... as you kinda guessed, it was to show the epoxy more than anything... i did a number of guides a LONG TIME AGO... but they have only just been put up on occ because guides aren't as important as reviews so no one cares about them lol
cchalogamer Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 but they have only just been put up on occ because guides aren't as important as reviews so no one cares about them lol It's sad they had not made it to OCC (though you did have them linked around here b4 the crash) Afterall I've never really used an OCC review for anything...read it then go read another one that compares more products or runs more tests and move on usually discarding the OCC version sadly. However the guides, even the now dated ones like rounding IDE cables that you would think everyone had seen by now I link somebody to around once every two weeks. I've yet to hear any complaints about the guides even ones like Lapping a GPU (Video Card) where one of the results images says "stoct" instead of stock. Actually If i remember corectly I origionally found OCC from a google search that resulted in the Lapping a heatsink guide. Ok so most of that was somewhat useless when directly related to THIS guide, but hardnrg needs a confidence boost so he'll break test more hardware in other crazy ways and produce a few more guides. sdy284 Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 but they have only just been put up on occ because guides aren't as important as reviews so no one cares about them lol I don't know about that...but people just have different priorities I suppose Suppliers usually have deadlines for a review to be completed in, so obviously those have priority (of course you know that since you're a reviewer )
