Guest Fried_fry Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 the deagle price is so messed up!!! $930 you cant even buy it first round then!!! CAL and CPL are going to be screwed if this goes through!
Gr4vitas Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Yay, now i whont be able to afford a deagle! When i already can't afford a rifle!
Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Some CAL and CPL representatives are talking to Valve and asking for a server-side variable such as sv_dynamicprices 1/0, so competitive gameplay stays unhurt. OptikaliLLusion Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 That would be a nice feature KB. Like I said, I wouldn't mind the thing for pub servers. Fine by me, mix it up a bit you know? But for competition it would be rather annoying.
Guest Flashstar Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 How would it really be annoying? It's not like the prices will change every minute.
Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 http://www.csnation.net/viewnews.php/8482/ WEWT! The reason it'd be annoying for competitive play is largely because of the possible price for the deagle, and possible hikes for other guns used a lot (MP5, TMP, et cetera). That's mostly hypothetical, but yea... YAY CVARS!
OptikaliLLusion Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Sounds good. The pub servers are like the black market warfare... so you could say it's realistic that it fluctuates. Competititive play is like army warfare... so basically the same price no matter what.

That's mostly hypothetical, but yea... YAY CVARS! How is it annoying for competitive play when everyone is under the same rules? So you can't buy a deagle the first round...neither can your opponents. IMO, CAL and CPL are being babies. They only ever want change if it's at their request. LoArmistead Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 So Bush and his evil cronies are out of the oil business and are now falsely inflating the prices of CS weapons too !!?? Yeah I agree, this is gonna suck. The M4 is already hard enough for me to buy

Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Which ends up altering professional gameplay, which many people are very conservative about. Also, it makes most defuse maps even HARDER for the Ts if they're unable to purchase deagles for the pistol round. It's a good idea for pubs, but would possibly wind up affecting those who are more serious about the game (CAL, CPL, et cetera)... You know what, I think that your point rules over mine . I need to get more sleep.
OptikaliLLusion Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 I do agree that the CAL-ers and CPL-ers are being a bit whiny but hey, they're great sources of publicity for Valve and possibly sponsorship for them... so they probably cater to their every whim.
