HomerJaySimpson Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 (edited) I just tried to run BF2 in hardware audio mode, without EAX. I'm running an Audigy 2 ZS. I don't get any sounds at the start of the game or music, only menu sounds. Also i don't get any voice over in the game or plane sounds etc, only gunfire. I've tried searching for this prob but i can only find probs relating to EAX and running the openAL driver which i've tried to do. I've tried running with EAX and without it and turning the sound quality to every level but still no luck. Also checked my speakers and creative panel to 5.1, 2.1, stereo etc... Whenever i switch to software sounds it works fine but is a big performance hit...Just asking here as there seems to be a lot of BF2 players and knowledgeable people... Nevermind, i disabled eax in the creative panel and it's working fine now... Edited September 10, 2006 by HomerJaySimpson
WhenKittensATK Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 its something to do with Hardware sound, cause i had the exact same problem. until i softmodded my Audigy 2 ZS to Audigy 4 and now i can use hardware and hear everything. HomerJaySimpson Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 Did you get any performance hit by doing that? I have to run mine without EAX and in 2.1 speaker setup, it's not a big prob but would be nice to have 5.
WhenKittensATK Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 not really sure, but my speakers do get louder and more focused. i usually play with headphones whenever some1 else is at home. (also got 5.1)
