LoArmistead Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 CPU markup isn't half as bad as cables. The markup of cables could be the biggest percentage markup I know of lol. Geek Squad 6' USB Cable. $34.99. Actual cost for the store to buy (including the cost of shipping, storing, etc). $0.89. Being unlucky enough to have to go and buy a cable with that much mark up. Priceless.
SMeeD Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 Ive never seen an AMD ad except for their logo on the bottom of some HP commercials Belkin USB cable at staples: $16 Across the parking lot at Brooks drug store: $7 I agree, cables are by far the most marked up. bigred Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 even that is off by what intel / amd charges LARGE suppliers like HP / Dell (newegg pays more). trust me to actually produce a CPU is in the single digits. packaging, shipping and storage are the biggest killers
