ApocFrenzy Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 Hey, I know quite a few of you on these boards have personally overclocked the Opteron 165 and some of you did it on a DFI Lanparty UT SLI-DR Expert board or one of the revisions close to it. I really shouldn't have gotten the expert because all the options just confuse me. Could someone walk me through the process of overclocking this bad boy. I would be glad to send some paypal your way if someone could help me over IM. Otherwise just post here if its easy enough to explain. I have read several tutorials on boards here and elsewhere and I hear that some of the options have different names on the DFI board. Thanks to anyone who can help! ApocFrenzy Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 (edited) Well, I dont have time to type out all of the options right now but I got the FSB up to 250mhz and it ran Prime95 for 12-hours and passed every test. I kicked it up to 255 and it didn't complete one. I figure I just need to up the core voltage but thats a greyed out option in the BIOS. It's there but I can't seem to change it. Is anyone familiar with this board? Does anyone know how I can boost the CPU voltage or know what safe overclocked settings are for this board? Oh, and I have two 1gb sticks of G.SKILL PC4000 ram. tbone2sk Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 (edited) The DFI expert is not good when it comes to overclocking tccd, but you might have UCCC. Did you buy the ram in 1 2gb set, or 2 1gb sets?
