RaTeD-R Posted May 22, 2002 Posted May 22, 2002 Ok, heres a brain teaser for yah. My current system (spec@bottom) used to power down fine w/ my old Packard Bell 15inch Monitor. I recently bought an IBM P70 17inch off E-Bay for 60 bux, now when I either put the computer to sleep, or it powers down after my set amount of time.....when I go to wake it back up, it freezes. I hear it power back up, the harddrive and video card start functioning again....but when I turn on the monitor, I either see a black screen, or a bunch of nasty looking (this cant be good) lines. I know I could always disable the power down option, and never put my computer to sleep.....but I would like to avoide that. Is there any way to get this dang IBM to work right. I mean, come on, its replacing a PACKARD BELL! It the PB can perform the task, ANY dang brand should be able! Bosco Posted May 23, 2002 Posted May 23, 2002 did you double check you bios to make sure nothing is turned off?
RaTeD-R Posted May 24, 2002 Posted May 24, 2002 Well, thanks for pointing out that I'm an idiot. Some how APM did get switched off. You would think the bios would be one of the first things I'd check during a problem, but thats where the whole "idiot" idea comes into play. Hopefully this will work, I'll post a post that will post some of my post-bio's change results, stay tuned for the post-game for more results. Man, I need to switch to a light-beer.
