Vasto Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I was just curious about what format and quality OCC members rip thier music at. I am currently re-ripping my music using iTunes at MP3 VBR with a minium of 192 on Highest setting.

DECwakeboarder Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Pretty much 128 all around, if I need a song to play at an event or for something like that I use the highest I can.

spazmire11 Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 mp3 @ 128 here i used to do 192 but 128 sounds the same to me so why waste the space?
silkster Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Actually when you have high end speakers and sound card there's a HUGE difference between 192kbps and 128kbps. My klipsch definitely brought out the difference in my 128kbps music collections. I had to re-rip them @ 192.
henbenley Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Whatever they come in from my download sites. They tend to range from 128 to 320. When I was ripping all the CDs I had lying around I used 192.
ccokeman Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 @320 but sometimes lower. I actually hear things that dont come across in the car or on a cheap stereo.
DarkScorpion Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Rip to lossless or to verying levels in FLAC. I can hear all the crappiness in anything below 320 when Im on my headphone set-up, but if it's for another CD to play in the car, then 192 is usually sufficient.
