whimp Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I've noticed that the spped of my pentium D 820 jumps 10mhz to 2.90Ghz when i run my virus scanner and other applications Is this normal?
romeo55 Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Its normal, just happens sometimes, tho it can get severe under high temps. What are the temps under load? If it deviates more than 10 mhz than something is wrong and this is called "throttling." This usually occurs under high temperatures
