so my brother wants a computer now, but he's only got 600 dollars and he wants to game. so far i have:

proc: 3000+ 64 bit venice core

mobo: i've got a MSI K8T Neo2 for him already

vid card: i had a little trouble picking out a chipset. would a 6600GT do alright for someone with a few games, but none of them too graphics intensive?

RAM: i was gunna go with 512, but i recently realized that 1G makes a big difference, so hows PQI ram?

hmmm, the prosscer is good, so ist the mobo, the ram is a bit iffy but it'll work

is that mobo agp? or is it pci-e?

if its pci-e you can look at the gto (refurb) which can be unlocked to a fully blown x850xt pe, some of the later revisions doesn't but since its a refurb it'll probably unlock, even if it doesn't it'll perform at or above the 6600gt

For a budget gaming rig all seems ok but the ram. I'd go with

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231012

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820231027

just a suggestion.

that second will do fine, but like raven said, if you can spare the extra 20 go with the first one, BIG differance.
