climberdude Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 this may seem like a stupid question, but i have honestly never done this before: how do i enable dual channel? i have 2 x 512, PC 3200, they're in the different channels on the mobo but CPU-Z says single channel. i have a DFI LanParty UT nf3 Ulatra-D. try not to make fun of me too much, i've been awake for almost 36 hours now... Guest Raven65 Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Put the memory in the 2 orange slots, that would be 2 and 4 from the top.

Contrary to popular belief, it's not for their own benefit: http://www.dfi.com.tw/Upload/Manual/85010531.pdf pssst. check out p17-
climberdude Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 (edited) i downloaded the manual, but it said to put them in two different channels, or something like that, and i thought thats what i did. i guess i didnt. i'll try that now EDIT: woo it worked. thanks guys. i thought the different colored slots were the different channels, so they were in the wrong ones. But regardless, congrats on getting it working correctly.
tdborg Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 doesnt it tell you in the POST whether its dual or single?!? i know some motherboards dont but if yours does, then just try every configuration until it tells you its dual! Theres only a few ways of doing it so if you have to go throught the whole start up its worth it!
DECwakeboarder Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Read your manual and it tells you right in there what slots you need your memory in for dual/single channel.
