IUMaestro Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 nVidia buys Uli http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=28331 ATI's take on the matter http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=28333
romeo55 Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Makes me wonder if ati will survive in the graphics department, Nvidia bought 3dfx and now ULI???? ati's all alone, Amd is pretty much bought by Nvidia
IUMaestro Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 nah. AMD's holding their own just fine right now. I have an unfortunate job @ Geek Squad now, and I spend alot of time in Best Buy because of it, EMachines and HP are selling more AMD64's then P4s right now. from my count, i'm sure of that. Hopefully that trend is global not just what I see every day

EDIT: i see your not banned
IUMaestro Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 LOL. give it some time. I geuss you're reffering to the fact that I accidentally posted in 3 word story before seeing the warning haha. i'm on some blacklist that's fo sho. but yea i know what you mean. i don't hold it against intel that they are making their own chipsets.. in theory it's a good idea as long as nobody else makes something that performs alot better... nForce4 for Intel - don't know what to think about that. Kamikaze_Badger Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 Very smart move by nVidia. $52m is a small amount, and it may generate billions in income, also causing ATI to lose footing, resulting in even more nForce chipset sales. bigred Posted December 23, 2005 Posted December 23, 2005 sadly I'm not buying this story for 1/2 a second. something sounds WRONG. ULI is also known as ALI, aka Acer Labs Incorporated.... they're so much larger than Nvidia on the grand scheme of things. and $52 million? hmmm definitely sound like something is wrong here.
