How Do I Overclock?

Recommended Posts

I have a XP2400 and A7V8X MoBo. On this Mobo your ram speed is locked to the FSB speed and multiplier, and you can't change your vDimm voltage either! :( ,

Is this the same for the A7N8X deluxe??

If it is? just fiddle with the multiplier (Ouuhh errr Missus!) and FSB, the board will do the rest. Just make sure your ram is rated to go to what ever speed you ramp the fsb up to! ie fsb of 166 will give you 333mhz on your ram timings so make sure your ram is at least PC2700 ddr 333mhz. i have a multiplier of 13.5 X 166. = 2.250ghz. my CPU doesnt like anything higher than 166 fsb but you might be able to push it a little furthur. My RAM can take it as it Corsair 512 PC3200 DDR 400mhz, and is very overclockable, but the CPU cant!

UPDATE: Ive found it to be more stable at 15 X 150 fsb, but runs very hot (at load 60oC!) AMD XP2400 is rated to 80oC so i guess this is ok but not ideal!
