Kamikaze_Badger Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 So, how high was everyone's first overclock? And, on what hardware? Mine was 1.8 --> 2.21 Ghz on an Athlon XP 2500+, MSI K7N2G motherboard. Would of gone a LOT farther if not for the crappy board . Nerm Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Mine was an Athlon XP 2500+(barton) @ 2.5ghz on an MSI K7N2 Delta mobo. Gave that cpu to my dad and bought myself another 2500+(barton) and it did 2.7ghz on the same mobo.
Kash Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 My first real OC was a 2800+ Barton on an Asus A7V8-X board. 2.0GHz --> 2.5GHz Not bad for not having any AGP/PCI locks (I still wonder why I didn't get massive data corruption on my drives)
Guest FxXP Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 My first real OC... hmm, a P-166 @ 183 MHz.. nah... My first real OC was with my A7N8X Deluxe 1.04 mainboard. I had a crummy stepping 2500+ and OC'd it to 2.2 GHz with my Samsung PC2700 memory.

BTSchnarfy Posted December 9, 2005 Posted December 9, 2005 Does pushing the Turbo button on an old 486 count? (lol, "nah, I don't feel like runnin' at 33MHz today, :push: WooHoo!! 66 baby!) Anyways, I think mine was my old Pentium II 400MHz that I got up to 450! Went real nice with the VooDoo2 that was in there (Quake 2 never looked so nice).
