LoArmistead Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 Honor our veterans by commemorating what they fought for and what they believed in. All gave some, some gave all, and let us never forget what those brave men and women died for. They died for the security of the country they loved, the United States of America. Sometimes I think we will never again have a generation as patriotic and upstanding as the one that fought in WW2. God Bless them. hockeyrcks9901 Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 On the History Channel their doing a special about it. Very interesting. It says that America fired the first shot, the midget subs may not have been a failure, and even if we had know about the attack an hour earlier it wouldn't have made a difference because the Zero's were superior to our planes. My american history teacher lined up his entire teaching schedule so that he would be able to teach about Pearl Harbor on the day it happened. It was pretty interesting. Archerzz Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Remember Pearl Harbor. When I was in Hawaii we went to the Arizona Memorial it was really sad, and I found it amazing that oil was still dripping from the ship.
ccokeman Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 It is a sad place to go to. I went in 1987 and was amazed at how much of the Arizona is still visible. If you get the chance to thank a veteran from WWII take the time there are so few left.
WhenKittensATK Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Let's not undermind the Japanese for they too had great ploits of the zero fighters (many veterans of prevous wars flew on that catastrophic day), not saying I don't stand under the United States, but to underestimate your foe isn't smart. They too also brave in their own way cultures are different but courage and bravery are all the same. Even when they had the preemptive strike, our naval superiority crushed their dreams of colonized Western. (Ex. During the colonial period Asian Countries such as Japan thought they shouldn't be ruled by Westerners, but Westerners be ruled by Asians) May God Bless all causalities of war, for soldiers do as they are ordered. Military does not start wars, it is the politician's greed for power that cause the atrocious we call WAR.
