Kamikaze_Badger Posted December 7, 2005 Posted December 7, 2005 I could see it put onto a PCI card and used as pagefile (very good for memory intensive work), but SATA or SATAII... won't give it the glory it deserves.
sYstEmATiC Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 this concept is not new its been around again the only true obsticle is the price also what happens when electricity gets cut and battery life dies out? eventual u will lose data 591459 they should have put one of those little 3volt lithium batteries on them like they do motherboards for saving bios data, and everyone knows those little buggers last for years. i got a mb that i pulled a 90mhz p1 out of and it still reads 3.1v on a dmm and also, if they created a new bus specifically for those things.....talk about scsi being a thing of the past.... (in highend servers anyways)
Puck Posted December 8, 2005 Posted December 8, 2005 and also, if they created a new bus specifically for those things.....talk about scsi being a thing of the past.... (in highend servers anyways) 592100 Great idea, but I doubt current processors can handle the strain of ANOTHER bus to deal with. Winchesters had a hard time just dealing with the memory bus . Throw in another high bandwidth bus and it will be too much back and forth on the proc to get free cycles for the actual user to use.
