PSA:

Tonight on FoxNews Channel 9PM EST, they are having a special showing. "Iraq: The Untold Story" is a documentary of the good things going on in Iraq that we don't get to see on the mainstream media. Anyone out there who thinks the war is an utter disaster, chaos, and that nothing good is coming out of it (because that's what the media is leading us to believe), please watch this show.

I anticipate that it will be fairly enlightening ;)

Yeah, thanks FOX. I'd rather ignore the bombings and killings in Iraq. I only want to hear about the good stuff. I also don't think they should be talking about troop death counts. It's really not that big anyways. At least that's what that tall guy on FOX and Friends told me.

Iggy: Because the Communist News Network would NEVER do that, huh? <_<

It's the liberal news stations who have been doing the most discredit and slaughtering of true journalism. I'm not saying that Fox doesn't lean to the right, but other stations lean to the left waaaay too much. The Right Report is no longer reporting, though, so I've got plans.

But it's that kind of ignorance that can really get me going at times. Yes, Fox is biased. No, CNN is NOT balanced. Both are bigoted. Same goes for CBS, MSNBC, etc. If you're going to aim your liberal distortion crosshairs at one station, prepare to aim it at your news sources too.

Like LoArmistead, I can not stand major news networks. They are ALL biased in some way. Channel 1 is one that I trust more than others, as it generally reports both sides (for example, if Bush gives a speech, they'll show a video clip of that, and video clips of both supporters and critics and what they have to say about it).

So, if you want unbiased media coverage, quit hoping. It's us who need to make a difference. However, who do you know who is willing to risk their lives to get coverage of both sides of a matter, such as a war? And then there are the costs of getting around and broadcasts, etc. Hell, if I have to, I'm going to start my own god danged reporting company that will report unbiasedly, as long as it makes you god danged liberals just SHUT UP ABOUT FOX BEING EVIL AND CNN BEING THE CHRISTOS LIBERALUS!

Iggy and Intense: Do you guys even watch FoxNews? They say the same stuff about troop deaths and suicide bombings as CNN, MSNBC, AP and or other major outlet does. You guys are just saying that because you don't WANT to hear anything good that is coming out of Iraq...but that's fine. Gollie, I don't know what is up with all this fox hatred. Just because they report both the GOOD AND THE BAD that is coming out of Iraq, they are criticized. I think hearing the good and the bad things that are happening makes for a well-rounded understanding of what is going on...as opposed to hearing only the bad.

Iggy and Intense: perhaps yall should watch it?

I'm not saying CNN is the model for perfect journalism, but I have watched Fox News, made a couple of visits to Fox News website, etc. and I can safely say that the language used and themes implied are most certainly biased in conjunction with the policies of the Bush administration. Additionally, without a doubt some good has come as a result of the Iraq war, but to purposely create a program that addresses only the positive effects is a blatant example of propaganda. It's these examples of chest-thumping patriotism that lead me to the conclusions I have made about Fox News.

And CNN's constant disregards for the good things and only focusing on the bad things of the war isn't propaganda?

Seriously, are you against people knowing about some good things that are happening in Iraq, JUST because YOU'RE THICK ENOUGH to consider only that propaganda?

Know what, don't even bother. If you think people shouldn't know about the good things that their sons, fathers, brothers, etc are dying for, then how about you join the protestors in DC? CNN and those other channels are MUCH MORE LIBERALLY BIASED then Fox is Conservatively biased, so your argument just lost more footing.

Typical. Lo makes an announcement about something that might be interesting and informative, then the Libs show up and instead of saying, "Hmm, I'll certainly consider it", say "f0x suX0r5" without even having watched the show. How can you people consider yourselves to be enlightened intellectuals when you don't even collect any information before coming to conclusions??? Intellectual my butt. <_< :angry2:

The regular media jams all the bad things down our throats every day, then one network makes a show detailing the good things and you lefties go berserk.

To answer the question of why are they only showing the good things on this show. The simple answer is that all day everyday we hear about the bad. I'm guessing they decided it might be night to take an hour or however long it is to talk/show the good stuff.

Of course people die in war...soldiers know that when they sign up. And this war has had far less casualties than any other war that I know of...Desert Storm prolly had less. I hate when people say "What about all the soldiers dying...its just so terrible and we should pull out of Iraq." My reply is this: they knew what they were getting into when they signed up for the military. They VOLUNTEERED to risk their lives...

Oh, and btw, thanks Lo, I didn't know a show was comming on like this...
