tq1coleman Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I have tried to search for a similar problem but I haven't been able to find anything on this site or google. I am trying desperately to set up RAID 0 for the first time. My mobo supports it and I have two identical hd's. I wanted to get another Raptor but I didn't want to wait for it in the mail, I will get one eventually. I configured it for RAID in the BIOS and everything boots fine, it detects it as RAID array striping Healthy @ 230 some odd Gb's. My problem is when I get into windows it does not detet the drives under My Computer. I go to the Computer Management > Disk Management and it isn't listed there either. I tried to install the software that came with the drives and it isn't listed there either. If you go to the Device Manager, they are listed there but it has the icon next to it like it is missing drivers or something. My drivers are up to date...downloaded the IDE RAID drivers from MSI site. I have the latest BIOS from 9/9/2005. I currently have them set up on the IDE 1 channel, one is set to Master and the other to Slave via jumpers and cable. I had them each on different channels IDE 1 and the other on IDE 2 both as Master but it didn't work that way either. I would reformat the PC and install the OS on RAID 0 but the floppy is broken at the moment and I don't feel like slipstreaming a CD. I would like to figure this problem out before I try to take the easy route and go buy a floppy which I am going to do anyways. I realize RAID 0 is really only beneficial with Raptors or SCSI's but this is a learning experience and I want to get un-hardware banned from PB. Any help from some hardware savy folks would be much appreciated.
