Any Gripes (or Compliments) About Pny Video Cards?

I did a search, and discovered bigred's big issue with PNY, and one or two other folks just generally badmouthing them, but wanted to find out what you guys generally think of them, both positive and negative.

Tigerdirect has the 7800GT bundled with COD2 on sale for $279 after rebate. At that price, I've almost gotta pick one up.

but you'd buy an MSI? just for reference they're made by MSI.

 

overall not bad cards, but they need to think about what "lifetime" means on thier warrenty. it means when they decide the product is useless... not when you might call it done. infact it took quite a fight to get them to replace a 6800ultra of mine not cool

yeah PNY cards are just MSI cards with a diffrent sticker on it, jacked up price, but i always try to get one of the 3 PNY,MSI,EVGA those cards have never failed me all the way to my Geforce 2 Ti

my 6800 PNY died on me, took awhile to get them to accept it as an RMA, but they did it quick after that. My 5200 PCI is PNY, and so is my MX-440, no issues from them at all.

 

Dont expect anythign fancy, and you'll be good, usually not very good OCers, but good at stock, as far as 7800GTs be sure to compare stock closk though...my eVGA stock clock was higher than the BFG OCed card for less money...

 

Oh and tiger direct rebates tend to be umm...a PITA, consider that too.

I saw where PNY was being sued for selling SLI-ready 6600's that....weren't SLI ready.

Same price, better brand, MUCH better site to do business with. And, I'm pretty sure you get COD2 with this one too (at least I did with my 515).

Ooh, nice. Rebate is valid today only, so lessee... I've got another.. 2.5 hours to figure out if there's anything else I wanna pick up from newegg right away to get it all in with one shipping charge... Guess I'm gonna be up for a little while.

Every once in a while, one finds that one happens to be in just the right place at just the right time, and happens to see something that will not likely happen again anytime soon. And although it might end up costing one a little over double what one was planning on spending, the fact that one is only paying about 40% of retail cost is of great comfort when one's credit card bill arrives.

Insanity. Will go nicely with the Lanparty SLI-DR I picked up from the same guy for $115. Now excuse me while I go faint.
