Tony_Toughnuts Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 My current 40 gb hard drive is clunking out from all the viruses (which is constantly filled up) and instead of doing the old reformat and reload I was thinking about getting a larger hard drive. Something with a nice fat amount of space thats relatively cheap. The entire hard drive would eventually be filled with 95% games. Was thinking about buying this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144391 Seems like a good deal but is speed sacrificed? Anyone recommend a fast cheap with lots of space hard drive?
i_lag Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 looks like a good drive, but why ATA100?
LoArmistead Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 I guess that's OK. Are you getting ATA because your mobo doesn't have any SATA connectors? If you don't have SATA, then I guess that HDD is pretty good. If you want something a litlte quiter, I would recommend a good ol' seagate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148061 If you decided you wanted SATA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148064
Ste Posted November 29, 2005 Posted November 29, 2005 Ya if your gonna go IDE why not go ATA 133, the fastest one currently. Just gotta make sure you use the 80 Conductor cables, which Are pretty standard now.
