Amd 64 X2 5000+ & Fx-60

Recommended Posts

Will these new processors being released drop the prices of others dramatically??

I would much prefer a A64 4000+ to a 3500  :P

Most likely prices will drop I remember the amd 64 4000+ costing about $490 in july and know its down to $345. But depends on the time of the year like I remember the fx-57 use to cost $800 and know its back up $900-$1,000.

I never had a northwood, but man i miss them.

A 3.0 Ghz FX would have been such a mildstone.

Who remembers my comment about "going away pressents" ?

Why are they moving the FX line to dual core? down't that defeat teh purpose of it all?

it really doesn't make much sense at all right now. unless the 1mb per core chips will be FX's and the 512k will just be X2's... who knows though cuz this one is puzzling to me too.

but remember that the X2 and FX do actually share the same intended market segmnet... the workstation. neither was originally meant for gamers (though the FX was adopted by gamers as their unofficial king)

if the northwood is for rendering stuff. and the fx for gaming. the opteron for other workstation things.

then why even go X2, or FX2

are the X2s better than the opteron, in workstation suff.

it like AMD made two workstationn chips, X2s, wich includes the FX2, and opteron. why?
