Recently a hard drive died.

So i bought a new one a 60GB Maxtor

I start the Windows XP OEM installation

And it formats then starts saying cannot find blah blah blah.dll when copying the files over.

So i change the cd, even though its brand new and still same problem.

I skip my way through most of the files hoping it will install fine.

But it restarts and Blue Screens When showing the Windows Loading Screen.

0x0000006b (0xc000007A, 0x00000008, 0x00000000 0x00000000)

Process1_initialization_failed.

Im going to try again with another cd.

Note*** I installed XP Professional on it then realised it was home i wanted when i got to the product key. So it cant be the DVD Drive surely?

Confused

Any Ideas On what the problem could be?

Are there any scratches on the disk? If so, I think you can use brasso to get them off, instead of having to buy one of those disk cleaners. Also, I think my cousin used to spray windex on a cd, wipe it off, then spray a bit more on it and let it dry...I'm not too sure how well that works though.

The CD is brand new no scratches.

Plus ive now tried around 4CD's and they all stunt on the .dll's

Edit******** Swapped DVD Drive over and cleaned 3 of the discs.

Should i repair or full install?

Starting to annoy me now :D
