deagle86 Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 As from my question you will see that i am a noob. I just recently bought some new ram for my computer. Its 1gb (2x512) 533mhz pc2-4200 DDR2 from PQI with 3-3-3-8. On the back of the box is says its great for overclocking. Just wondering how to do it, how easy it is, does it really make a difference in how fast it runs, and is it stable to do? I also bought a video card wondering if those were easily overclocked too. fire_storm Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Overclocking your ram can improve the speed of your computer makes it go faster. But there are many different things you can overclock like the latancys you can lower them and that makes your ram go faster. Also increase how many mhz increase the speed of ram. And overclocking your ram can cause your system to become unstable. To test for stablity there are many test like prime95 and memtest86. BabyBalrog Posted November 1, 2005 Posted November 1, 2005 Video card yes, RAM is OCed at teh same time yoru CPU is, because you raise teh Front Side Bus ( FBS ) which both are dependent. Read the FAQ and do a few serached of the site, answers are out there.
