AIM had a linux version, AMSN is for msn, but GAIM > all. Maybe tell us whats wrong with it and we can help. What do you do/any errors/etc?

 

and yea, :google: simple questions like this, thats why google is there :P

ok first off I did search on google however I didn't know about www.google.com/linux

 

and second off when installing gaim on suse it came up with about 10 conflicts and I tried ignoring all of them since that was the only option for most and it doesn't even open

are you installing from a suse repository, or compiling from source? It's almost always best to install from a repository.

 

On a debian based distro, the command would normally be

 

sudo apt-get install gaim

 

But then, SuSe has YAST, and I'm not sure if that controlls all the stuff like that. I never used SuSe :ph34r:

 

If not, check out amsn.sourceforge.net

 

and download the lastest CVS snapshot. You will need tcl and tk 8.4 dev files installed, but aside from that, I think it's pretty light on dependencies.
