Mr_Yuck Posted October 26, 2005 OK, so I have an Asus (surprise) motherboard, P2 power Power up: beep code "Long-Short-Short-Short", look it up, memory related, could be bad memory, seated wrong, or bad memory slot, well i tried all 4 slots, no go, tried taking bios battery out for a bit, back in, still no worky, so I try different memory stick, still no work. Anybody have other things I should try before throwing the motherboard out? if this motherboard is dead, looks like I'll be putting a VIA Motherboard/Processor combo in it's place and selling that instead....I just have too many cases and cant stand throwing one out for free
Uber Posted October 26, 2005 mother board is dead, had this happen a while ago to a clients PC that i built, i took the mobo back and got a new one and it was fine. sorry mate. check the Caps on the motherboard, sometimes they start to leak and that will cause it to stop working. and if you do find whats wrong you could try to fix it. Guest FxXP Posted October 27, 2005 I have already have two of those old P2L97's sitting in my spare junk box. Got a P2B-F sitting in a stripped down A-Open server chassis.
