swifty11212 Posted October 23, 2005 Posted October 23, 2005 well price wise and performance wise compared to mines, it is, would you like me to list out how much i paid for my rig's parts? but i just wanna know, is that setup good or what? oralpain Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 I have the S939 infinity. Basically identical except for the CPU socket they put on it. I'm running 301x9 right now without any problems. BIOS is a bit quirky (has some outright errors) and the chipset fan sucks, but other than that it is an excelent budget overclockers baord. swifty11212 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 the rig is running fine, but i found there was a HUGE problem. the vdimm was undervolting. when i set it to 2.7vdimm it was actually running @ 2.6. so i set it up to 2.8vdimm. and yea overall for a budget rig it runs pretty good. heres some benchies. 5481-3dmark05 12632-3dmark03 23224-3dmark01. and for aquamark it gets 68k. once i get better cooling for it ill try to push it more. LoArmistead Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 that looks like an interesting build! Since I haven't used any AMD64's under 3200, so I'm just curious. Do you think the 2800 will bottleneck the system when lined up with the 6800gt? I'm just wondering because I know the 6800gt is a great card, and I don't have any firsthand experience with a 2800. swifty11212 Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 it did bottleneck the 6800gt under 4Xaa but once i got it to 2.3ghz it worked pretty good. once i get better cooling for it ill push it even more. once that issue was resolved im interested in a 6800gt now. So yes, they botteneck like hell try setting your 3700+ to an 9x multiplier (from stock speed) and feel the BF2 laggyness
