localguru Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 so I'm thinking about buying one of these http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu...1.html?mv_pc=79 to do the ducting mod I've been reading about, to put a duct right over your cpu, and maybe another fan, to push air form the outside, directly onto the cpu. But what I cant see is, how do you atatch a fan into one of these things?
cptkook Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 you don't really have to. You can leave the fan attached to the hsf and then put the duct through your side panel or window directly over the over the fan. That's it, it will pull the air through the duct from the outside... justinal Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 ya that sounds like a good idea shouldnt be too hard to do either and put one of the laser cur grills in the middle that looked good
SoyoJoe Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 I was just think of doing that exact same thing the other night as i was ordering some fans from frozencpu (they have great service). I wish i had thought of it before i cut the hole in my plexi for a fan, cause now if i put a blowhole above the fan i just put in, it wont line up perfect. Maybe ill have to get some new plexi. Another thing is that the tube is only like 3 inch long which may/may not be long enough to reach ur hsf, in some cases. localguru Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 yeah I think I'm going to put one in at first and see how much it helps, then see about ataching it to the back of a fan. I also had to cut new plexi today. becuase I tried the epoxy to atach the window to my case and it never really took, and looked shity, so I took it out, and the epoxy said to use acetone, to remove the glue, well little did I know actone disolves acrylic. My wife said I could have told ya thought, that's what I use to take off my acrylic nails
SoyoJoe Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 that sucks. if i decide to put one blowhole in its goin to be hard to replace the plexy seeing how lian-li decided to rivet the window in. So ill have to drill out the rivets and then re-rivet it back. Ive seen pics of blowholes with the fans in them, not sure how they did it though. I wonder if its worth all the trouble? localguru Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 I have a 92mm blow hole, and I have it connected to a fan controller, and I can turn it up and down and it dosn't make a difference.
