NewtWare Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 (edited) I just overclocked my 2.4 p4 to 2.6 for starters. And I have been increasing it for about two days, very slowly. I have a Volcano 7+ and have some compund called Artic Ahumina. My Bios says my cpu is 44 degrees and my system is 31. I usually keep my fan on high (very Noisy ) Should i get new coolant. I think i had better temps with the fan that my cpu came with. Any suggestions what i am diong wrong or should help. please leave me a message. My goal is to reach 2.9-3.0. I know there are other posts about this. Not exactly but there is. Its just I must have gotten something out of a 40 dollar heatsink and 170 dollar mobo. Another thing is wierd is that mbm says my temps are 29, -48, and 69. obviously its not 29 or -48, but why does it say 69. when bios says my cpu is 48. any other programs that actually tell you your right temps. Shaggy Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 Try reapplying the cpu compound, but you dont really need a whole lot. Just get enough to cover the core of the cpu and it should only be paper thin layer.
exeter_acres Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 What software are you using for temps? MBM?? You need to set up the correct sensors in the software. The help file describes it very well and the MBM website has a list of Mobo's and the correct sensors. How is the airflow in your case? You can have a great HSF set up but if the air in the case is too warm it won't do much..... Curtis
NewtWare Posted February 20, 2003 Posted February 20, 2003 The system temperature is about right i think.. about 33 degrees. i have two in and three out. I have a chieftec case. In the back i have one pci fan and i have two back fans. and i have two front fans and have two hd fans and have a chipset fan. No blowholes, mom doenst want me to cut holes in the case. All of my wires are wound up, so i have pretty good cooling.

JeepNPhreek Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 I take it on those 2 rear fans there are already built in holes for them? and same goes for the front? otherwise those fans probably aren't doin much. if its the case that i'm thinkin it is, then the holes for those fans are already there correct?
