Name one or more computer hardware or sofeware tool that have been extreamily helpful to you. OCC does not count.

 

For me if would be dos start up disks. If you've read my recent os install troubble threads you know why.

UBCD4Win - A disc that lets you boot into a Windows environment that is loaded with useful diagnostic tools. It is amazing how useful this can be.

Software: Knoppix! DOS boot disks. SpinRite, OnTrack Data Recovery, WinPE / BartPE windows boot disk with cd-based spyware killers and AV

 

Hardware: oscilliscope, soldering iron, POST led diagnostics card kinda like this, drive duplicator. Yes, the hardware stuff was YEARS AGO. Kinda miss those days....

Winterials. Windows on a CD basically. it'll boot corrupted windows installations, change admin passwords, and allow you to backup files.

floppy disks for me, still use them for emergancy flash procedures should something go wrong with my gpu and/or mother board bios.

yup, sometimes, making a bootable CD or USB drive just isn't gonna happen or is just way too much effort for making a simple flash disk :)
