cybergrunt69 Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I know what you're thinking, but the anwser is YES, Canada does have a Navy. http://www.komotv.com/stories/39362.htm At least they weren't totally unprepared, right? Amid policy debates and the destruction, some moments of levity have arisen. The Canadian Navy sent in ships and divers a week after Katrina. But Puetz said the Canadians quickly called in an SOS: "We are using restaurant place-mat maps. Can you help us?" they asked. Her office provided some official maps right away. He's a real nice guy. -Anonymous 550433 Oh my Goodness, that is beautiful. interesting tidbit. Canada's military budget annually is about $9.8 Billion, or 1.1% of their annual GDP USA's military budget is $371 Billion, or 3.3% of our GDP. Who spends a lot of money on the military... <<< we does B:) (Begin flame on how US should be putting that money towards ending poverty instead of spending it on imperialist scams...) danyo64 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 (edited) You know, I met the Canadian Army once. He's a real nice guy. -Anonymous 550433 our army isnt massive because we focus on peace keeping instead of going to war every time we can.. and because canada isnt as much of a target to terrorist attacks as the us and because we are allied with the us. and our army is appropriately sized given that we are ten times smaller than the us population wise. martymcfly Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 the way that i see it, canada should be like the hoth system. We should station US troops there in that icy place when a war comes round and then the country will be destroyed by saudi walkers as we evacuate.
