That IS an Overclock. Even 134 is an overclock. And that means your cpu cant go higher than 142 fsb (which is already a fair overclock)

AthlonXP 2000+ is 1660=133*12.5

12.5*142=1775 (isn't that 2200+ ?)

ps. almost the same for me, but i can go up to 144*12 without overvolting

pps. if that is just the bios then flash the older one.

  • 4 weeks later...

It was ocing fine before you updated BIOS?

I have the ULTRA with a 2100.

My multiplier is locked at 13 on the chip so bringing up my FSB would be still multiplied by 13.

You may have to unlock the chip if it is not already and take the multiplier down as you raise your FSB.

I have a GA-7VAX with a 2700+ oc @ 2301. fsb @177.

I have not updated the bios at all and every couple of days or so, the cmos resets itself to the original 166.

I was told by other members to try replacing the cmos battery. I have not gotten around to it yet but kinda wierd we sorta have the same problem/ and board.
