NyCUnDaGroUnD Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 Honestly i would choose OCZ over Geil. Ocz might be cheaper then geil but performance is what we all want. The enhanced latency modules they have are really good. Altough they had a shady past, they have cleaned up and are producing some competition in the memory market. bkny1055 Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 so the 2x 256 will be better than 1 memory chip correct
DimensioN Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 uhm, i don't think that would be smart. *1 stick 512mb is cheaper *if you buy 1 stick 512mb, you have more slots free for upgrading *and i think 1 stick 512 , works a little faster then 2 sticks 256 greetz
d3bruts1d Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 I wouldn't touch OCZ or Geil. Stick with the good stuff.. Corsair, Kingston, Xtreme, Crucial...
xpandapuss Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 That setup is worthy of compliment.... You should be able to get to 3.1GHz. As for memory I also would go for OCZ EL series. Having one single 512MB stick is better--not to mention less possiblities of instability....

DimensioN Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 I wouldn't touch OCZ or Geil. Stick with the good stuff.. Corsair, Kingston, Xtreme, Crucial... why not geil? i had no problems with it.. really love the memory.. greetz
cptkook Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 OCZ and Geil haven't really been proven out completely in the OC market. Most extreme OC'ers stick with the more well known brands. Those that d3 mentioned. Plus a single stick of memory is more stable when OC'd than two sticks. So a single stick of 512 would be the best. DimensioN Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 well if you go for a good deacend memory go for corsair.. , i have nothing against my memory, but it's just that i got used to mine and i think corsair makes me able to get better scores and better system stabiliy greetz
