i bought a 250gb ide maxtor drive with 16mb cache for a friend and windows will only see it at 125 gb. I installed SP2 cause i heard that lets windows recognize larger hds but that didn't help. Anyone got any advice?

now that you have sp2 installed, you must resize the parition, i think, to the full size using partition magic or similar. Or use disk management and create a new partition in the unoccupied space. Or reinstall with a slipstreamed disk. Sucks, i know.
