Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Well, a friend of mine's father has a lot of trucks, and when he gets new ones, he sells them. Right now, he's selling a green (yuck...) Chevy Silverado (unsure of the year) that he says get's about 15 MPG, for about $2k or $4k, I can't remember which. So, would this be a good deal? And worth going around the hassle of getting a loan and all that crap?
apostolics Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 yes chevys make good long lasting street trucks but dont think of off road or heavy duty
Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Lol, at today's gas prices and insurance rates, it'll be used for school and buisness.
DECwakeboarder Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Depends on the year and if you've really got a use for the bed. If it's really old or you can't use the bed that often, then stick with a little civic or something.
Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Well, other then a mounted .30 minigun for idiots in the road, it'll probably be used for hauling stuff around, such as hay bales, on the farm.
DECwakeboarder Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 As long as you can justify the low mpg, then I'd go for it, can't beat the price really.
Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Well, it's about 10 minutes from our house to town at highway driving speed, so gas isn't all that big of a problem. And, it's nice to have something that you can use around the farm as well.
cchalogamer Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 Humm seems like an odd combination...15mpg (so sees to be '96 or newer) yet low price...doesnt add up, but then again, im only basing on prces around here, plus idk if it;s 2wd/4wd/Z71 package 2dr, 4dr, Ext, reg cabs, or any of that or whatever else (oh and motor size....could be the dreaded V6 which would explain the 15mpg with age...) )
bigred Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 if it's a work truck... good lord the abuse they take I look at what they did to those ford's at the ranch. even the 02 F250 has had a pair of transmissions... they chevys are sitting behind a barn, too much to repair the problems on both of those 01's
Kamikaze_Badger Posted September 9, 2005 Posted September 9, 2005 So umm... are you saying that they're good or bad?
