ive always just used alcohol and alot of scrubing

it makes sense that people don't want to submerge a priciy CPU... but every time i mod or reseat, it's soapy water and a toothbrush :) still goin strong

Same here, and I dampen a paper towel with alcohol for the first wipe. :)

i ended up using some 91% iso. and a q-tip as well. seemed to work great, although i don't have anything to compare it to.

I use Isopropyl -aka- Rubbing Alcohol...The higher the percentage the better. I usually use 91% as it evaporates quicker. And then whipe with a klenex/cotton ball/q-tip for the hard to reach places. Scrub and repeat the process.

I just scrape it off with a very sharp knike. Just kidding. I use rubbing alcohol, wipe it off with something smooth (like happy towels), don't use any harsh fabric (like sandpaper).
