VolcomPimp Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 if it's 8mhz I doubt win 3.1 will even run on it... I just did a search on it... I thought he was kidding about the 8mhz... I see 10mhz on this site... that thing's a 286, how are you gonna run windows 98 on it???? if that thing was on my hands I'd seriously take a baseball bat or somethin to it... DimensioN Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 hihi, or give it to a museum. really there are no programs left that ll run on that system. you're not able to install annything on it, maybe you can still find a os that works on it, but which programs are you going to install on it? i wouldn't know eighter, because there aren't anny. even "paint" would be to large greetz
ukmike02 Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 How much did you pay for it? Maybe you could load linux on it, no graphical stuff. I have some stuff on the subject, if you get hold of an older copy it might just work. Even some of the latest releases and distros can work on 486 machines. Give it a go, it might work well using telnet to check on servers (if you need that). Mike
RVE Posted February 16, 2003 Posted February 16, 2003 even "paint" would be to large He straight up said "paint" Perhaps Notepad will be too demanding as well!
