BiPolar Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I've got the powertoy for windows desktop manager, but is there a better program for it? I want one where I can move programs from one virtual desktop to another, not just open programs in them separately.
Gremlin Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I use AltDesk from Astonshell : Link I use the 1.6 beta since I paid for it. With 1.6 you can move mouse over each window and it will show you screenshot of what program is running
DECwakeboarder Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Does anybody know of one that is free, but still functional?

spazmire11 Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 actualy there is a way to do it in windows you just have to replace the shell(taskbar and stuff) if your up to it look for a program called litestep
BiPolar Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 yeah, i've used litestep. It actually uses more system resources, so I didn't want to switch to it again. The powertoy m$ provides isn't bad, you just can't drag windows across different virtual screens. and this is for my laptop, which i'm not ready to switch over to linux. I think i need a bigger hd for that, since i want to continue a dualboot.
d3bruts1d Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Litestep SharpE DesktopX (Stardock) Are probably the 3 most popular desktop/shell replacements out there. Each allows multiple desktops and a ton of other features.
DECwakeboarder Posted August 22, 2005 Posted August 22, 2005 Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't have multiple desktops with DesktopX, only add widgets and whatnot.
