Phase change may be safter, but its a million times more expensive. If you take precautions water cooling isn't going to kill your system. Just make sure you leak test the water setup for more than 24 hours straight before putting it in your computer. I don't have WC so I'm no expert on it but there are a million people on here who could tell you more. As far as I know its best to buy the pieces seperate and build the setup your self. A good setup will give you CPU temps of less than 35. :)

EDIT: Is 50c too hot? No its not gonna burn up your CPU but that is really hot and you should go abouts lowering it. What kind of cooler do you have? If you have an aftermarket cooler you should be lower than that in which case you will want to try reapplying your thermal grease etc.

yeah, it's aftermarket zalman 7000 CNPS keep in mind that I'm on a neo2 and am quoting built in temp sensors... gonna get my old fashioned mercury thermometer next to the core in a few days and see how hot it really is.

Have you updated the BIOS on that thing? Cause I know my old ASUS board read almost 10 degrees over what the temp was, I flashed the BIOS and it fixed the problem.

Im around 47c, and I just ordered WC, yes order seperate, and shop around. But make sure you have EVERYTHING thought out on what parts, products, hoses, clamps, uv die, uv light etc... If posible, get a lot from the same place, it will get to you at the same time, and you save on shiping another order.

How is phasechange a million times more exspensive?

You can get a prometia2 for around 500$ and that will get you around -20 to -30

Also with wtarecooling you must realize it will only cool your computer to ambient temps so if this pc is in a hot room watercooling isnt gonna do a whole lot for you

that's a somewhat low quality cpu cooler in general.. it's definitely not bad, but you can look into "optimizing" what you have now to make a big difference rather than looking into a whole new type of cooling...

for me, i'd get a high rated fan, if that's a 70mm fan, get an 80->70mm adapter and get a high powered 80mm fan for that puppy. also make sure the bottom is mirror-like and if it's not, get some 1000-2000 grit sandpaper and sand it to a mirror finish with soapy water. then use arctic silver ceramique or 5, and i'm willing to bet your temps will drop very considerably.

I was exagerating, I didn't really mean that phase change would cost a few million dollars. But what I was trying to say is its fairly expensive and watercooling is a much cheaper option.
