I just say the letters, g-i-f.

 

It depends on the extention for me...with some I say the letters(g-i-f, e-x-e), some I read the word(text, wave).

jpg or jpeg I say J-peg.. with puck on the text and wave thing.

the proper way of saying it is jif... like the peanut butter... i used to say gif, like gift without the t, until i found out it was the wrong way lol

Good find. "jif" seems counter-intuitive to me, but if the inventor says it that way, who am I to disagree? I'd still prefer the hard "G", however.
