Would This Work Together?

Recommended Posts

Ok i want a gaming rigg and this is what i pick out. I'm on a very small budget as you can see and I won't be overclocking at or little at all. I don't mind at all having a stock power supply plus it had good reviews on newegg.com(how reliable though?) And semi-generic parts are fine w/ me. Already got a hard drive and optic drives and i have a 5.1 sound card. Speakers/Keyboard/mouse already have.

for a budget system that looks pretty nice. You are going to LOVE that Sempron :D . I have the same one, granted I have a lanprty mobo and some good RAM, but I have this thing OCed from 1.8ghz to 2.5 on stock cooling, and 100% stable. Great processor for the money.

Even at stock speeds with no OC that'll be a nice gaming rig. So far this Sempron coupled with the x700pro I'm using (equivalent to the 6600 you're looking at) plays everything I've thrown at it, and hasn't made a peep. I like this little Sempron so much that I have it in my main rig, with AMD64 3200+'s in my other rigs.

That is a sweet little setup, and its not actually weak at all. It will play most all games at VERY nice settings! the only thing i would drop my 2 cents on would be the mobo. I would spring a few bucks more and get an Asus or Abit board. They are maybe 20 bux more. Those semprons can be overclocked very well with good mobo and ram. Good luck with it! Let us know how it works out for you.
