Sli Or Not Sli

considering that sli will only run @pci-e 20x for the 2

 

should I get sli? 2 6800gt's

or

1 7800gtx.

can someone help.

Well you may want to look at it this way- if you go the 7800 with a sli motherboard you can always drop another one in there if you need more FPS etc. plus the 7800 has some newer features. :)

i thought 6800s were pretty good and two even better wouldnt they beat the one card . if he never planned on getting two 7800s

well 6800gt's might preform close but its sli!

it dosent work in all games so get one card when you can

that and heat and power might be a issue?

i went to frys and saw thier computer and it was a FX53 i believe and running Sli 6600 Gt and it sucked my 6800 beat it like nothing. I was playing farcry and it was $H!TTY the point is it that although its SLI i dont think the game really used it so i thinks its a waste of money and go withte 7800

Personally I think spending over 1000 dollars just so u can have sli, is a waste, but thats just me

the newer one card solutions beat sli anyways or are at least close to it

If you want to go SLI then I would suggest getting a good quality SLI mobo and one 7800gtx now and then save up and get another 7800gtx later on down the road.
