Recommended Posts

I am wondering what THE BEST cables in a round IDE fashion to get. Im not worried about cost, but I am just getting tired of cheap ones and then they die out, or not even work!

All the Akasa round cables i have are working and have worked for years...

1x Akasa copper braided FDD cable

1x Akasa copper braidied ATA cable

2x Akasa blue electroluminescent (EL wire) ATA cables

The NewLink UV-reactive cables i have in my new rig seem to be even higher quality

2x NewLink UV-reactive red ATA cables

I've used about a dozen cheap round cables from galaxy technology (bought form newegg) over the last several years never had the slightest problem with any of them.

I pretty much think that they are all the same. I got el cheapo off of newegg.

yeah, I've never had any probs with any of mine. I think the ones I'm currently using are MadDog Glow-in-the-Dark ones.

I had some vantec ones and they crapped out. Then I got some elcheapo ones from newegg. they work but they are starting to fall apart. When they do Im going to give up and make my own. I can probably get them narrower by sleeving them myself anyways.

It seems as though the shielded ones work the best, regardless of brand. I got some generic one that were shielded, they work great.
