PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817104934

$91

$614 for that, could drop PSU model a little and swing it with less $$$ impact...it's a better stock setup, but the DFI board in the other setup offers more OCing option..and i would rather have DFI over MSI in a PCI-e setup...

well the 939 wont be bad...the 754 wont be either....whatever you get will make your surrent PC look like i pile of garbage...so it's win win for you...

and as far as that whole not needing a case thing...umm yeah you do...bc it wont fit in the Dell case, and a PC (well your main rig anyway..) needs a case....

EDIT: and puck...you have the best sort of knowledge...hands on :D

and OCing is perfectly safe as long as you keep thigns cool, take your time, and dont go crazy

Yep, dorky is right  They have much better cases for cheap. Xoxide also has a ton of cases(link. You're bound to find something that fits your criteria there.

DFI mobos ten to be the most difficult to use but also best overclocking motherboards.

well the DFI and MSI that i listed one is 754 one 939...other than that one is considered a best for the socket motherboard and the other is not...but the MSI i listed is still a good board...

As for case i bought an Aspire X-Dreamer II $55 shipped at the time. came with a crappy 350w PSU which has been replaced  With it you really need to buy two 80mm fans for the front intake, and a 120mm for the rear exaust.

EDIT:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16811144026 like mine :D the blue doesnt look purple on them in person, and they ARE bright, though the front LEDs are EASLY unplugged, or moved out of the holders to help dim/cut them off

Another EDIT:

I like the case, but there are better quality one out for around the same price...with the addes fans airflow isnt bad and it's better than that other case you were looking at

Hey Ham, why are you posting the same question over and over again in different parts of the forum?, I already recommended an Nforce3 board with a 754 sempron on your original post day before yesterday.

For everyones information he currently has an old Dell with a 30gb hard drive which could be a good donor for optical drives etc and maybe will release a bit more cash, problem is if you read his (many) posts in the other sections, you'll find he doesn't really feel confident building it himself. Oh and a 6600gt eats BF2 no sweat and is still best card for the financially challenged.

lol, i sorta am, i should have done more research b4 posting the other one, plus i wanted any man's opinion, no offense, but i think i have figured it out, Now I just need to save money and buy it as soon as i can. And i have also got rid of the Barebone idea, bcuz its cheaper to build it myself, i didn't think it was but a lot of ppl helped. Team effort, lol. Plus I don't know too much about computers in General, i know little pieces and stuff. LIke i didn't know that bundled PSU suck that come w/ cases. I wouldn't have not known any better.

Case PSU's dont always suck as such but you don't have any control over what you are getting and they defnitely CAN suck so it's best to buy something with a known and guaranteed performance but on your budget don't blow a fortune, I'd personally buy a case with a PSU and test it using decent software like MBM (free download) or a multimeter, for the extra $5 or so that powered cases cost you might get lucky and end up with fairly decent rails (I have in the past) and if the voltages go up and down like a Texas whores panties whaddya lost.

Thanks cchalogamer. I went away for a while and you picked right up with all the links and everything. :)

As far as helping.... well that's kinda why we're here :)

With regards to the donor hard drive. That should definitely be replaced, but not necessarily now. It's probably slow (5400rpm), and that'll slow your whole system down. A decent 80gig drive (SATA or IDE) is about $60. So you could either cut some corners and fit it into the budget now, or you could wait and use it for a while. It'll work, and it won't kill performance too bad. It might be nice to spend your cash on a good mobo/cpu/etc, then getting a hard disk a bit later. Swapping a hard disk is pretty easy. CPU/mobo is not so much.

The donor optical drive should be fine, but maybe someday you could replace that too, since those are dirt cheap.

As far as that X-Dreamer II case, I have one of those too. I actually like it, but it is a little flashy, so I'm not sure if that's a turn off for you or not. Just make sure the first thing you do to it is pull the PSU and throw it away. It's junk :P

Anyways, keep us posted on what you're going to do, and we'll keep giving you feedback! Good luck!

Oh and I've got the 754/939 board you mention and it's been, quite frankly, bloody good, incredibly stable and idiot proof (I should know) though the lack of AGP locks limits your overclocking and it is AGP only. Anybody who says it's crap has never tried one normally and, well, you can't argue with 59k+ in Aquamark off a 6600gt. It's been a reliable backbone for four budget builds I've done this year.

reliable, but i think that picking a socket and jsut getting a better board to start off with is the better option now...and do you ever plan actually UPGRADE with the board?

And of course that OC thing...why not buy a PChips or something....they run good at stock...sometimes.
