i hope i put this in the right spot but..

i have a x800xt AIW card as everyone knows this has a tv tunner. now the tunner works perfectly in all but, whenever i start the program it says that "DMA" is not enabled thus degrading preformence. ok who cares? whell apparently some guy got the idea that if im gona get "reduced" preformance maybe it would be better if i couldent get ANY preformance at all. so just out of my anoyance of the stupid mesage i decided to check my settings...

thats odd i seem to be running in "ultra dma mode 5" on both of my hdds so how is it that i am runing in dma mode while not runing in dma mode for the software?

i have:

a64 3000+ venice

dfi nforce 3 250 ultra-d

x800xt AIW

1 cd-rw drive

1 dvd-+rw drive

2 250gb hdd ide

1 40gb ide hdd(in external enclousure)

any and all help is much apreciated thanks

you're talking about your hard-drives affecting your graphics card's performance...

how so? like, in what application/game? what is "no performance"? please explain a bit more... i'd say "no performance" is a black screen, what do you say "no performance" is?

i think he is talking about he has digital cable and it may not be recognizing that what he has is dma and so it is taking high def signals and reducing them to standard cable signals... is that what you arr talking about?

if so that tuner may not be able to handle high def or maybee its your drivers aren't from ATI or are old and need to be upgraded?
